Sony Reader Pocket Edition Pro Reviews

computershopper‘s review Edit

Sony’s budget-price Pocket Edition is a compact, solid, easy-to-use e-reader. But even after a price drop to $149, it's a little overpriced for the feature set.

The Sony Pocket is the best all-rounder, it has an unintuitive menu and a small screen. Both the Pocket and the Cool-er primarily use the ePub format, so your eLibrary will probably be transferable to future eBook readers.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

A low-cost, small-form-factor device, the Sony Reader Pocket Edition bests other e-book readers on design, if not features and performance.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Reading on the Pocket Edition Reader isn't quite as stress-free as we'd like. Our main complaints are the length of time it takes to turn a page and the low contrast of the screen compared to normal paper books.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

sWith direct hook-up to a lending library and links to extra reading materials, Sony has addressed criticisms of its limited e-book options. The Sony Reader PRS 300 Pocket Edition's build is solid, the battery life is long and the design is up to Sony's usual high standards. The Sony Reader PRS 300 Pocket Edition is a great example of an e-book reader designed for pure reading pleasure.

The button lay-out on the side of this Sony Pocket Reader, I find less comfortable compared to its bigger brother, the Sony Reader Touch Edition, at which the operation takes place on the screen itself. However, the screen of the Sony Reader Pocket is more comfortable to read, because it is less shiny since this Reader does not require a touch coating.

It has its limitations, but it's a wonderfully built eBook reader at a very affordable price

A nice enough device, but stripped of some significant core abilities offered by the Reader Touch Edition.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

While Sony Reader Pocket Edition PRS-300 has a basic feature set, its $200 price tag, compact size, and Epub file compatibility make it an appealing e-book reader.
