Creative Vado HD Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

We like the design and feel of the Vado HD, and it has good software and an HDMI output. It's a little let down by its video quality, as we'd hoped for better at this price. If you're looking for a pocket camcorder, we still prefer the Kodak Zi6. If you want something compact and stylish, then Flip's Mino HD is a better buy.

We really liked the Creative Vado HD camcorder’s design, especially the tactile silicon rubber body armour that prevents butterfingers. We were also pleased to find an HDMI output for which the associated cable is supplied, and the option to shoot in standard as well as high definition.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Creative Vado HD is exceedingly easy to use - it gives you almost no options to change. There are no confusing menus or buttons. There's a flip-out USB connector, a USB extension as well as an HDMI cable for plugging into an HDTV. The portability of the Vado HD is clearly a massive plus point. And it's great to be able to have something in your pocket that can film in HD literally seconds after you pick it up. As of April 2009, the Vado HD has come down significantly in price, and because of this the Vado HD is now a much more attractive option.

The Internet camcorder has opened up a new market for those who can't be bothered with configuring settings or editing, and want a device which will slip smoothly in a pocket. The Vado HD checks all these feature boxes well, and moves the bar up to meet the new HD options now available on YouTube.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

The Creative Vado HD doesn't offer much that you won't find elsewhere in the pocket camcorder world, except in the option of adding an external microphone, something that a lot of people have been crying out for.

A handful of updates make Creative’s fresh 720p shooter a better value, but image quality still largely lags behind leaders like Kodak and Flip.

Creative`s 720p pocket camcorder is slimmer than most, and offers good image quality-but competitors provide better bang for your buck.

The Creative Vado HD may fall slightly short of the Flip Video Mino HD in terms of video quality, but it's stronger feature set may tempt you.
