Lenovo ThinkPad X120e Pro Reviews

Notebookcheck‘s review Edit

With the ThinkPad X120e, Lenovo was able to improve upon a number of areas where the X100e faltered. Hardware-wise, the display now provides a more uniform illumination with a higher contrast and the addition of the HDMI-port is a definite welcome to the already generous number of connectivity options. Left-handers may still feel displeased, however, about the large number of ports on the left side. Performance-wise, the X120e shines in comparison to the X100e. When taking into account the performance boost with the noticeably improved battery life and lower surface temperatures, the user will immediately benefit from the distinctive AMD Fusion core powering the X120e.

PC World‘s review Edit

Lenovo's marketing preferences aside, the X120e is not an ultraportable: Its screen is too small and its performance is too slow. We're not even sure why the company would want to match it against full-fledged ultraportables. But the X120e is the best netbook going. Though it's a little pricey, one typing session will convince you that the $450 starting price for this model is more than worth it.

NotebookReview‘s review Edit

We were big fans of the ThinkPad X100e and had high hopes for the new ThinkPad X120e. In general, Lenovo delivered the goods, but it isn't perfect. For starters, several other companies have risen to the challenge of making good netbook alternatives. The new HP Pavilion dm1z might be a consumer ultraportable, but at the time of this writing the dm1z offers essentially the same hardware specifications for $480. The ThinkPad X120e is priced at $579 or $689 depending on where you buy it.

computershopper‘s review Edit

With its comfortable keyboard and very low price, the ThinkPad X120e is suitable as a second PC to serve as a traveling adjunct to a more powerful primary computer. Just don’t call it a netbook.

The AMD Fusion-powered ThinkPad X120e is an 11-inch ultraportable that's better and more affordable than last year's model, making it an even better choice for small-business buyers.
