PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The small size and elegant design of the Linksys by Cisco Media Hub Media Hub (NMH 405) can complement many entertainment devices, and gives you remote access to your files, music, and videos.

PC Pro‘s review Edit

We're very impressed with the NMH405's simple approach - it's the easily the friendliest NAS we've used - but there are two key problems. First it's very slow compared to most recent devices - we measured read speeds at just 11.8MB/sec and writes at 8.8MB/sec - and second it's costly. As a result, we just can't wholeheartedly recommend it.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Stripped of its fancy stylings, £300 seems a big ask for what is foremost a network hard disc rather than a dedicated media streamer. Still, it's worth considering if you want remote backup of and access to your media and aren't too fussed about hi-def reliability, perhaps.

www.whathifi.com‘s review Edit

The Linksys isn’t configured to work with Squeezebox, but every other streaming device we tried (including an Xbox 360) found the Media Hub immediately. What’s more, accessing the Linksys from a web browser brings up a screen that looks and feels like a proper media player, making accessing your music and movies a pleasure from anywhere. However, we couldn’t get the NAS installed simply using the bundled software. In the end we had to map a network drive manually and configure the system on the web browser. Which is, frankly, very fiddly and twice as annoying.
