HTC DROID Incredible 2 Pro Reviews

gadgetreview‘s review Edit

As stated earlier, it’s the phone Batman would use. It goes with the suit, has a great camera, is powerful enough to accomplish any job, and looks great all the while. Strong battery life and a good data connection wrap the device up in a pretty bow. I highly recommend the Droid Incredible 2 to anyone, with no significant reservations.

Engadget‘s review Edit

We'll come right out and say it: the Droid Incredible 2 is the best 3G Android smartphone on Verizon today. With this device, HTC is pushing the single core Snapdragon platform to the limit, then packaging it into an attractive and beautifully finished product. It improves upon the already excellent Droid Incredible with a nicer screen, an even better camera, global roaming capability, and most importantly, amazing battery life. It's an incredibly (ahem) well rounded handset -- the perfect storm of quality, refinement, power, and efficiency -- as long as you can live with Sense.

AnandTech‘s review Edit

In the continuum of Android smartphones, the Incredible 2 is nothing extraordinary. It is a good, well rounded phone that performs well but it doesn't win any awards beyond that. The lack of a dual-core SoC definitely doesn't hurt, but it's also something I don't like recommending if you're going to hold onto your phone for 1 - 2 years.

brighthand‘s review Edit

The Incredible 2 has a fantastic camera, it's small and light, and it's blazingly fast. However there are some voice issues, and the battery life, while pretty good, isn't stellar. Add in a slightly disappointing external speaker and annoyingly small buttons and you'll see how hard it would be to give this model a glowing review. Having said that, however, I know that I'm being exceptionally nitpicky with this phone because it has a really tough act to follow. It's a worthy successor to the original Incredible, even though I was hoping for more.

ubergizmo‘s review Edit

The Droid Incredible 2 is a very good phone. Its design, ergonomics and usability more than make up for the relative lack of performance when compared to the fastest handsets out there. For folks who value aesthetics, this phone is up there with the Nexus S and one of the best Android smartphones. And while it might not have the latest “Gingerbread” Android 2.3 (this unit is on 2.2.1), the HTC Sense software does a great job of providing some of the things that are missing. The ideal user for this phone is someone who wants a nice-looking Android phone with very decent performance and battery life.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

Though the lack of some features is disappointing, the HTC Droid Incredible 2 is an improved device and a good choice for Verizon customers looking for a global smartphone.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

HTC's Droid Incredible 2 is a nice refresh of the original model, with a more rounded look, a larger screen, and global voice and data capability, but it's no longer a smartphone leader on Verizon.

LAPTOP Magazine‘s review Edit

Between its improved speed and call quality, sharper video camera, and larger display, the Droid Incredible 2 is a top-notch sequel. While the Thunderbolt for Verizon Wireless offers much faster 4G speeds, this HTC phone lasts longer on a charge and is more pocket-friendly. Plus, the Incredible 2 offers faster 3G speeds than the iPhone 4. While many will still prefer the iPhone 4 because of its sharper display and higher-quality app selection, those looking for a svelte but well-rounded Android device will really like the Incredible 2.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

When it comes down to successive devices, the HTC DROID Incredible 2 manages to do everything correctly to make it a fruitful and fitting offering. Seeing marked improvements in various categories, it’s still one great all around handset at $200 on-contract, but its arrival on the scene feels ever so late and seems as though it’s past its prime already. Trying to follow after the mighty HTC ThunderBolt is one feat on its own, however, it’s already feeling as though it’s dated when you see smartphones packing worthwhile features like 4G LTE support, HDMI out, and dual-core processors out of the box. In all honestly, the HTC DROID Incredible 2 would’ve gotten some headway if it were released earlier in the year, way before the rash of next-gen competition, but it might be overlooked now in favor of those other fully packed modernized devices. Sure it’ll still get some notoriety primarily because of the Incredible branding that people are familiar with, but in the end, it might not be enough to keep people affixed to it in the long term.

MobileBurn‘s review Edit

While the HTC DROID Incredible 2's design isn't going to suit everybody, the phone itself is very solidly built and offers a great user experience. The fact that it will work overseas on GSM and UMTS networks is just gravy - it would be a great phone even without that ability. Sure, its 1GHz Snapdragon processor won't set any speed records, but we survived a long time without dual-core chips, and 99 percent of users will have all the power they need in the Incredible 2.

Macworld‘s review Edit

The HTC Incredible 2 is an excellent upgrade from the original Incredible in terms of display, design, and specs, but I couldn’t help but feel slightly cheated by the absence of 4G support, especially since the phone is so great for watching video. For what it offers, I think it should be priced $50 lower. At $200, it’s only $50 less than the HTC Thunderbolt. I would willingly shell out the extra $50 for the Thunderbolt, which lets me switch between 3G and 4G when I need to.

SlashGear‘s review Edit

Still, for a midrange handset, the DROID Incredible 2 is a logical choice. Its name may no longer quite ring true – this isn’t the “incredible” handset in the top spot of Verizon’s range – but it’s another good example of a reliable phone well suited to the mainstream audience.

Phone Scoop‘s review Edit

From my perspective, the Incredible 2 is by all rights a great phone. It performs most tasks flawlessly, and, while the phone may have lost a little of the stylistic swagger exhibited by its predecessor, it isn't quite as vanilla as the rest of the slab smartphone crowd. Aside from the lack of 4G, however, the Droid Incredible 2 makes a marked number of improvements over the original that earn it high marks from Phone Scoop. HTC has delivered a worthy successor in the Droid Incredible 2.

MacNN‘s review Edit

With the Incredible S and (soon) the Droid Incredible 2, HTC now has the burden on its hands of not only recapturing the spirit of the original but making it a worldwide success. We'll see in our Incredible S review whether it's repeating that success.
