Samsung Star II Pro Reviews

reghardware‘s review Edit

The Tocco Icon is a perfectly adequate feature phone that looks a bit pricier than it is and includes a decent media player and camera. Web browsing is painless so long as you can get Wi-Fi access, given the lack of 3G, it’s painfully slow without. It’s really not a bad handset, but considering you can get a budget Android for a similar price, its appeal is rather limited.

The Samsung Tocco Icon looks better than many of its price rivals, but in spite of pumping Wi-Fi into this latest model, the Tocco series is in danger of becoming irrelevant. Its price is perilously close to that of perfectly good low-end smartphones, and when the capacitive touchscreen isn't much fun to use in operation here, we suggest you seriously consider one of those models. Unless the Tocco's shiny black 'n' silver look already has you transfixed.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

Overall, the Samsung Tocco Icon isn't a massive step up from the Tocco Lite, but the inclusion of a capacitive touchscreen is certainly a compelling reason to buy if you liked the original phone. The compact chassis, slick design and ease of use also add to the package, while the features such as the straightforward audio player and the sneaky fake call function may appeal to some.

GSMArena‘s review Edit

The first Star sold its way into Samsung’s hall of fame. But that was the dawn of affordable touch phones. The better spec’d and better looking sequel will find it hard to emulate the original. It’s a fine device on its own, but it will inevitably feel the pressure of cheap smartphones. But that’s for Samsung to worry about. You can go ahead and give the Star II a try. It doesn’t charge a fortune and having any prior touch phone experience is not a must.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

Nice alternatives to the Samsung Star II could be Samsung's low-end bada handsets like the Wave 575, or you climb the smartphone ladder with the HTC Wildfire.
