Last but not least, Zotac's Amp! Edition GTX 580 did not disappoint. It routinely produced the second fastest results during testing, usually just one or two frame rates behind MSI's card. It had no problems beating out Gigabyte's N580UD due to its higher factory overclock straight out of the box. In addition, the Amp! Edition performed on par with the M2D15D5/OC in power consumption and temps, but had the lowest GPU overclock of all three GTX 580s. Of course, hitting 925 MHz on the core is definitely nothing to whine about.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The GTX580's already legendary performance is boosted by some BIOS tweakery that re-sets the core and memory clocks to run faster. This translates around 6% performance gains across a variety of games. And that crazy-heavy cooler really does the business. It's the fastest card money can buy. Though rather too much money, in our opinion.

ZOTAC's GeForce GTX 580 AMP! Edition does not bring many improvements to the table. The card is a complete implementation of NVIDIA's reference design with higher clocks. Its increased clock speed of 815 MHz, vs. 772 MHz on the reference design, can deliver a small performance improvement in our benchmarks - up around 3%. If you are willing to do some additional overclocking then you can expect a higher clock headroom on the AMP! Edition than on other reference design cards. According to ZOTAC, some special binning is performed at the factory where GPUs are picked that can handle the highest clocks. Compared to other reference designs, which max out at around 830 MHz, the 895 MHz on the AMP! Edition are a good improvement.
