ASUS P8P67 WS Revolution Pro Reviews

bjorn3d‘s review Edit

Overall, the ASUS P8P67 WS Revolution motherboard has so many nice features, and great motherboard design especially on the PCI-Express slots and other components, that it has earned its way into our main system. We would definitely recommend this motherboard to anyone and it became my personal choice if anybody needs a very powerful, feature full motherboard.

This board specifically targets professional users and offers a built in NF200 controller to increase the number of PCI Express lanes available in its four full length PCI Express slots. The fact that you can pile on four graphics cards makes the this an obvious choice for users than have heavy rendering workloads or hardcore gamers. But on the flip side, this capability comes in the form of extra power consumption, noticeably higher than the other boards we tested. But we also saw the WS Revolution turn in the top score in several of our benchmarks, and the fastest write speed in CrystalDiskMark. We think it's a fantastic board to use for the foundation of a professional workstation, rendering machine, or gaming system.

ASUS comes to the table with an extensive lineup of P67 based motherboards. You have pretty much every price point and feature set covered. I did not look at all of the boards available from ASUS but a grouping that covered three distinct areas. The average home user, the work station and hardcore gamer with the P8P67 Pro, P8P67 WS Revolution and the Maximus IV Extreme.

When you consider what you have with this new product (Bluetooth, three-way SLI/Crosfire, Intel LAN, Multiple SATA 3.0, excellent power and heat envelopes along with good overclocking), it is not hard to see why ASUS' workstation platforms have been so popular. The $269.99 price might be a little high for some, but for the person that is looking for performance, stability and longevity, the P8P67 WS Revolution is a board you will want to take a very close look at.

Overall, the ASUS P8P67 WS Revolution Motherboard was a great motherboard that had tons of features that come in at a fairly reasonable price if you need all the PCIe availability. ASUS is quoting $259 MSRP on the board but we are not seeing it in retail just yet. That price is not tremendously cheap, but again you know if you want many of the features this board is touting. This is one of the few motherboards that is going to properly support Quad CrossFireX and 3-way and 2-way SLI, not to mention 4 Tesla cards for a true workstation. All in all, what we found wrong with the ASUS P8P67 WS Revolution Motherboard is miniscule and being corrected as we type. The overclocking was awesome and ASUS promises that to be better soon. What's not to like?
