Cooler Master Storm Spawn Pro Reviews

bjorn3d‘s review Edit

Cooler Master has once again shown that they can create a quality product no matter if it is something that is not in their comfort zone or not. The Cooler Master Spawn gaming mouse would be an excellent selection for those looking for a professional gaming mouse that does not hurt the wallet. Note that this mouse is not for everyone. This mouse is designed for “claw-grip” style mice users and would not be ideal for those who prefer the “palm-grip” as the surface area on this mouse is somewhat small. While testing, we noticed that the Teflon feet were somewhat rough and did not provide the smoothest movements at times. Also, the bright red color of this mouse may not be ideal for some gamers as it may not match their color scheme of their PC setup. Others however may enjoy having a mouse that stands out from their peers.

hardwarecanucks‘s review Edit

Pleasing every gamer with a peripheral is next to impossible and thankfully, Cooler Master never intended the Spawn to be marketed as a kind of gaming Swiss Army knife. Rather, it is a claw-grip mouse that doesn’t try to be anything else. This lack of compromise is why we like the Cooler Master Spawn so much. It is purpose built and for its intended audience, there really is no better choice as this price point. As long as you are aware of its limitations and fully understand your preferred grip style, this could very well be the perfect mouse.

Not everybody grabs a mouse the same way, but there are two most common form of handling this peripheral: resting the whole hand over the mouse and letting the wrist and palm pressure control it, or by a claw-like grip with only the fingertips being responsible for the movements. People who prefer a claw grip have now a model specifically tailored for this: the CM Storm Spawn, from Cooler Master, with a 3,500 DPI optical sensor and seven configurable functions.

bit-tech‘s review Edit

While the Spawn is a capable mouse that will suit those who play with a claw grip, we weren't entirely convinced by it. Granted, it’s well made and has plenty of features, but some of these features are pointless or just plain detrimental to your gaming experience - at least you can turn off the Angle Snapping. Basically, unless you’re specifically looking for a mouse to complement your claw grip, there are plenty of better options available.

When it comes to gaming peripherals, many companies add lot of features that a user's may or may not need and in doing so position their products in a price range out of the reach of many gamers. With the Spawn Cooler Master has brought a gaming peripheral back to its basics by providing a mouse that has all of the necessary parts but no extras. This means that for $49.99 you get a 3500DPI sensor, 7 fully programmable buttons, and 32KB of onboard memory.

Overall, if you are looking for a new gaming mouse, you may just want to check out the CM Storm Spawn gaming mouse, especially with a low price point of $49.99. You are going to get a bunch of features packed into one nicely designed small package that is going to give you a nice ergonomic design, especially if you are a claw-style gamer.

Fudzilla‘s review Edit

With Spawn, CoolerMaster offers gamers a quality CM Storm mouse that comes cheaper than its siblings. That’s not to say that the mouse does is any lesser endowed however - for a mouse with an optical sensor it’s top drawer. The suggested pricing for Spawn is €33.5 + VAT. In conclusion - robust but sleek, precise but not overkill, quality but not overpriced; Spawn is surely the mouse to try on for size.
