Lexmark Genesis S815 Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

We really wanted to like the Genesis - its stand-alone touchscreen interface is the best we've ever seen on a printer and a three-year warranty is always welcome. Unfortunately, with mediocre print quality, a low-resolution scanner and a tendency to jam, the hardware just isn't up to the promise of the interface. Don't forget the high price, either.

All in all, we'd recommend the Genesis S815 priced at S$499 to those who scan or copy a lot. These are two areas where the Flash Scan technology and the clever UI design combine for a great user experience.

ITreviews‘s review Edit

Lexmark's Genesis S815's styling should attract a few appreciative glances - and it backs up its smooth lines with excellent quality results, albeit delivered at rather slow speeds. This is a lot to pay for a colour all-in-one, though - and despite its benefits, we're not sure how many would be able to justify the initial outlay.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Lexmark's Genesis S815 is innovative and ideal for most home users. Versatile and user-friendly, it offers great integration with online services, but it's not the best for high-resolution scanning, fast document printing or stellar photo printing.

A clever device, with good scan quality but substandard printing – and far too expensive

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

The Genesis S815 is a great looking device capable of some excellent quality output, a super-fast scan feature that actually works and additional benefits in the online content available. £400-ish is still a lot to pay though, and since it loses points in some key areas we think it’ll struggle to really take off.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

Unusually for a brand new printer, Lexmark is currently promoting the Genesis S815 with a £200 cashback offer. At a touch under £200, it’s very good value. At £400, even the novel design and FlashScan may be hard to justify. The vertically mounted scanner works very well and is certainly fast – ideal if you want to convert a large collection of traditional photo prints. The rest of the machine is similar to one of Lexmark’s high-end Pro machines, but looks rather better.

PC Pro‘s review Edit

It’s too expensive, but the near-instant scans and the sheer invention on show make it difficult to dislike.
