Samsung PL120 Pro Reviews

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

For such a small camera, there's a lot going on with the Samsung PL120. In fact it could be argued that there's too much going on, especially on the back. It only has a tiny body and to have all those buttons on the back, especially three menu buttons, is a little too much. The main feature of the Pl120 is the front screen for easy self portraits and to help get better children shots. It works brilliantly for self portraits, the flash test was one of the easiest we've done because we could frame it without any help. We tried the animation on our children and while it attracted their attention, it didn't make them smile which is unfortunate. Saying that, there are more animations that can be downloaded from the Samsung website.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

For £100, this is a camera that you'll get a lot of use out of, from holidays to updating your profile picture on Facebook. The tiny size means that it'll simply fit into a pocket when it's not being used and the price means if it does get broken, it doesn't cost the earth to replace. The Samsung PL120 is a camera that can be used by all the family from novice younger users, networking teenagers and proud parents to technophobic grandparents alike. The only problem we can foresee is with people who have larger hands. They probably won't get on with the tiny format or cluttered back. There are a lot of pros to outweigh the cons though.

ephotozine‘s review Edit

The Samsung PL120 is ultra compact, features two screens, and offers very good value for money, however, even when scoring highly for value for money, it's simply not enough to bring the overall rating higher than 3/5, as the rest of the camera is mostly average. Sure it's a nice little camera, and looks good, but the image quality disappoints. If you just upload to facebook and other social sites, then you may not be too concerned the the dual screen is ideal for indoor self-shots of you and your friends. The abundant filters, frames, and other easy modes could be appealing too.
