HTC Inspire 4G Pro Reviews

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

While our mates across the pond found more to love about the HTC Inspire 4G's Euro predecessor last year, we can't help but view the American version in a different light today. For a budget handset, it often performed better than more expensive smartphones, even from the same manufacturer. It's just good enough that first-time owners will find a lot to love, but by the end of the two-year agreement, the only inspiration they'll be feeling is to upgrade. Thanks to the huge strides Android made over the last year, there will surely be plenty to choose from.

Again, we're going to give AT&T the benefit of the doubt on the HSPA+ situation. It's unfortunate that we were unable to test the true capability of the Inspire 4G because we don't have access to the faster speeds, despite moving within a 50 mile radius of Philadelphia to find the enhanced connectivity. The Inspire 4G is an extremely well-rounded phone. The screen is gorgeous, the software is well-tuned, and it is a bit "future proof" in its ability to do data speeds that are 2-3x faster than what you can get on 3G today. If you're looking for one of the best large-screen Android phones on the market today, the Inspire 4G is hard to beat.

Digital Trends‘s review Edit

The HTC Inspire 4G is a fantastic Android phone and at $99 with a two-year contract (half the price of the Motorola Atrix) it’s one of the best values on AT&T. HTC reps have told us that it will get an Android 2.3 upgrade fairly soon as well, which will be great. Recently, HTC stock was valued higher than Nokia or RIM. With devices like this and HTC Sense, we can see why.

At USD 100 with a two-year contract, the HTC Inspire is a function-filled phone that is very affordably priced. With Android 2.2, the ability to use AT&T's HSPA+ 4G network, a large display, and mobile hot-spot capabilities, this phone has everything the average user needs.

There's a lot to love about the HTC Inspire 4G, and I have finally found a phone that surpasses the HTC Droid Incredible as my favorite phone. HTC Inspire 4G from AT&TThe Inspire is reasonably good looking, performs astonishingly well, takes great photos, and is a dream to use, thanks to the excellent HTC Sense UI that just keeps getting better and better. I had to look hard to find anything to put in the cons section at the end of this review, but neither of those small flaws is anywhere near as bad as some of the issues I've seen on other review devices. When you factor in the extremely reasonable sub-$100 price tag, the HTC Inspire 4G becomes a no-brainer.

Phone Scoop‘s review Edit

The Inspire 4G is the best Android handset being offered by AT&T at the moment. It gets almost all the basic features right. For $99, the Inspire 4G is an easy phone to recommend. If you like big-screened Android phones that work really well, look no further than the Inspire 4G.

PC World‘s review Edit

The Inspire is an excellent addition to AT&T's lineup and is a solid Android alternative to the iPhone 4. The display, its good camera, and the variety of apps available in the Android App Market all make it an excellent phone for entertainment. I'm not totally convinced that it deserves the "4G" in its name, but that might be due to where I was trying to test the network. Still, "4G" implies speed, and while the Inspire certainly wasn't slow, it wasn't blazingly fast over the network either.

MobileBurn‘s review Edit

The HTC Inspire 4G, like the Motorola ATRIX 4G, is one AT&T's first devices capable of running on its 4G HSPA+ network. It offers a stunning industrial design, a top notch user interface, and an high-spec camera. While some might find that its 4.3-inch screen is a bit bulky, the size of it makes web browsing and media viewing an absolute pleasure.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

Obviously, the HTC Inspire 4G doesn’t come off as being an innovative product that breaks down walls and barriers because we’ve seen it done already with the HTC EVO 4G. Nevertheless, it presents AT&T customers their first taste of a high-caliber HTC device that’s sure to inspire customers with its equipped performance. And even though we’re disappointed by the so-called HSPA+ speeds it obtained in our testing, the most impressive part about the Inspire 4G is its right out of the gate on-contract pricing of $99.99.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The HTC Inspire is certainly better than the Samsung Captivate ($149.99-$499.99, 4 stars), AT&T's other high-end Android phone. But the real question is: should you buy this instead of an iPhone? That's going to come down to taste, really. The Inspire does some things better than the iPhone; it has better Facebook integration, for instance, and is a better choice if you don't like to use iTunes to manage your music and video. But the iPhone is better for small hands, it's even easier to use, and it offers an even better range of apps than the Inspire does.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

Though dual-core smartphones are on the way, the HTC Inspire 4G stands as one of AT&T's best, high-end Android devices and is an incredible value.
