Intel DX48BT2 Pro Reviews

hardocp‘s review Edit

Intel has produced in the Intel DX48BT2 motherboard what can easily be considered a bad enthusiast product. There are simply too many other better products in the market, ones that are based on Intel’s own X48 chipset, for enthusiasts to choose from. X48 motherboards are a great product choice for the enthusiast, just make sure you get one built by ASUS, EVGA, Gigabyte, MSI, or XFX. Intel missed the boat on this product and only succeeded in making itself look like a joke to enthusiasts. Obviously we still love Intel chipsets and processors for our high performance rigs, just make sure it does not have an Intel branded motherboard inside.

In conclusion I have to say that in my opinion Intel is much more successful with processors and chipsets than mainboards and software. I sincerely hope that it is only a conclusion to this review and that one day we will see great overclocker mainboards from Intel and convenient brand name utilities and tools.

We were disappointed that the DX48BT2 didn't make full use of our 1,600MHz memory but it's the low performance that would make us nervous about recommending this motherboard.
