ASUS U36JC Pro Reviews

itreviews‘s review Edit

The U36J manages to pack some serious performance into its slim frame while still running cool, and boasts a few neat extras such as the fingerprint reader. But there are chinks in its armour, such as the graphics solution that doesn't quite match up to the beefier processor, and the lack of a DVD drive, sacrificed for space. However, those who need a very portable general use laptop that can still pull its weight - and which offers excellent battery life - will find much to like here.

Digital Trends‘s review Edit

Disappointing is the best way to describe the Asus U36Jc. The company has had much experience in the construction of ultraportables, and seemed to have the formula mastered. Yet this new model has a number of inexcusable flaws.

PC World‘s review Edit

For people who don't want to spend a lot of money on an ultraportable, the Asus U36JC offers decent power, an attractive screen, and good connectivity. But don't expect to find the attention to detail and clear documentation you'd get on more-expensive laptops. Also, given the terrible touchpad and button, you should buy this laptop only if you're willing to use it with a mouse.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The Asus offers good value with plenty of Windows and graphics power, a fingerprint reader and an ExpressGate preboot environment. The screen isn’t great for all environments, however.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

We immensely enjoyed our time with the Asus U36JC and, while it won't suit those after a big-screen laptop, for regular travellers seeking power, style and mobility, it's outstanding.

Notebookcheck‘s review Edit

Asus has done a lot of thing right and has set up a really attractive subnotebook. Highlights are the slim and light case with high-quality material haptics, the very good battery life and the nevertheless system's high performance. The Nvidia's CUDA engine rather falls into a niche, as it's really only supported by few programs until now. However, video converters will be happy about it.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The Asus U36JC-A1 is well-equipped and provides the raw computing power needed to get tasks done on the road, but its size and weight make it less attractive for frequent travellers. It's a executive notebook worth checking if you need high performance and don't mind a little extra heft.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The thin, powerful Asus U36JC-A1 packs a lot of computer under its slim 13-inch hood, but some might want to wait for next-gen Intel processors to sweeten the deal.

LAPTOP Magazine‘s review Edit

The ASUS U36Jc provides a strong mix of style, performance, and portability that users on the go will find appealing. However, its warm temperatures, stiff keyboard, and mediocre sound quality prevent us from giving it a higher rating.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The U36Jc-A1 is one of the thinnest and most powerful ultraportables under Asus's arsenal, but paid the price in terms of heat.
