Apple iPod nano 5gen Pro Reviews

ITreviews‘s review Edit

A successful evolution of the iPod line, even if the camera is more novelty than necessity. You pay a premium for an iPod, but it's hard to argue that you don't get a good deal.

reghardware‘s review Edit

It’s disappointing that the camera can’t shoot stills, but the Nano’s super-slim design and slick interface means that it’ll nonetheless appeal to young folk who just want a convenient all-in-one device that will let them play music and video, and shoot video clips of their friends. Yes, there are rival devices that provide a wider range of features but these price points and the sheer techno-lust appeal of the Nano’s styling should ensure that it sells like hot cakes again this Christmas.

Macworld‘s review Edit

A video camera, built-in microphone, and buffered FM radio make this iPod nano a far more functional, flexible, and entertaining iPod than its predecessor. It won’t replace your full-sized camcorder (or even last year’s pocket camcorder). It’s not Tivo for radio nor a field recorder. It’s a compelling upgrade to an already solid and affordable media player.

The latest iPod Nano steals the spotlight with major updates on top of the music, video, and photo features it already included. Apple packed a ton into this small (and attractive) gadget.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

To judge the 5th generation iPod nano as an MP3 player alone would be easy enough. It's still an excellent little machine. It's strong, beautifully crafted and just a real pleasure to own. The sound quality is as good as we've come to expect from the iPod family and the screen, although too much to watch an entire film on, is fantastic given its size. Unfortunately, apart from the FM transmitter, you could have said much the same about the 4th generation model and, as it happens, we did.

The 5th gen iPod nano is inarguably Apple's best yet. It's still more expensive than its peers, but it's got more style than any rival and the addition of a video camera gives it more than a modicum of substance too.

The video capture is awkwardly implemented, but the rest of the new nano is lovelier than ever

The fifth iteration of Apple’s tiny portable media player keeps the same featherweight body as its predecessor but adds a bigger screen and video recording.

No other player offers video recording, but even without it, the iPod nano is still the most graceful device in its price range.

No other MP3 player on the planet packs more features, from video to a pedometer, into a smaller package than the overachieving Apple iPod Nano.
