Dell 1355cnw Pro Reviews

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The Dell 1355cnw's wireless connectivity and simple controls lend themselves well to a busy micro-office environment, as long as you don't mind waiting a bit for multipage documents.

The Dell 1355cnw has many good things going for it: good print quality in both black and white and color, lower energy consumptions than laser counterparts, a fully functional front side USB port, high capacity toner replacement cartridges and unique features including wireless connectivity. But I also saw some negatives that might hinder some businesses productivity, specifically the 150-sheet fold out paper tray (that can't be upgraded), a smaller 15-sheet ADF, manual duplexing and even slightly slower than advertised print speeds (in black and white).

Like other color multifunction printers in its price range, the Dell 1355cnw presents a series of trade-offs. Its output quality is better than that of most competitors, which might make an investment in its pricey replacement toner worthwhile.

This capable laser-class AIO delivers impressive-looking output. It's fine for small offices that need color printing, though its speeds and pricey toner make it best for printing in modest volumes.

ITreviews‘s review Edit

This would be a fine, compact, colour all-in-one page printer, if it wasn't for the exorbitant price of its consumables. Nearly 20p per page is way beyond what you should be paying for an A4 colour page. It's a shame to burden good technology with this marketing error.

Whether you need a shared MFP in a micro, small, or home office or a personal MFP in any size office, the Dell 1355cnw Multifunction Color Printer is a prime candidate.

Although the technology is interesting and the size is convenient, the price of both the machine and especially its consumables is eccentric. How does Dell believe it can get away with charging nearly 20p for a colour page, when similar printers are doing the same thing for less than half that, and costing less to buy, too. It’s a real shame, as the machine itself is easy-to-use, well-equipped and produces good print, if a bit slowly. It’s a marketing, not an engineering, fail.
