i bought this for my son picked it up cheap. loads of down loads of music and videos. battery life is not long and need a computor if you dont have a charger you need to plug it in to that. its size of cell phone.
Having been quite the slow adopter of new mp3 players and having the great opportunity to play around with quite a few of them before selecting this one i can truly say that this is the best hard drive based music player EVER!!! if u are reading this thinking about whether you should buy one well then my advice is just go.. go buy one and take great music with you where ever you go Two thumbs up!!! :) :) :)
This is probably the best music player I have had in a very long time.
Robust and reliable quality (I have dozen times or so that I dropped this) and the storage capacity is excellent (I've got a 120GB). I just changed the earphones to a really good set of headphones and bought a speaker dock for use in my room.

only the management software... good thing there are alternatives.
The iPod Classic was an awesome media player. It had enough storage to support my music and videos, etc. I had the 30GB and it was perfect. Battery life great and lasted a long time and it was very reliable and solid. If you need a media player with a lot of storage and everything else, look nowhere else.
IT is pretty sturdy and reliable, its beautiful and can be obtained for much less than it used to be priced.I have 80 gig version and its battery life is unbeleivable. If you dont need touch screen, and all that modern things, this is way to go :)
i have huge library of 40GB music but this syncs all. and i can add videos too. you can use it as a portable hard drive. screen is small but album cover flow works fine.
Very reliable. Dropped it many times, even in water and it still works great, wear and tear is great. It is a little bigger than the other line of ipods but its not a big deal. I would recommend this device to anyone.
The iPod classic is an awesome piece of equipment. It is the single best thing I have spent my money on last year. I can keep all my music, movies, tv shows in 1 easy to reach place. The battery life could be better, but I don't have any real complaints.
You have to be pleased with the classic. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but it gets the job done. excellent device. It does all the things you want in a device like that, but is still underrated.
You have to admire the simplicity and functionality of this device. I only use it to carry my music with me in the car, so I do not need a lot of flashy functions, just dependability.
The iPod is the best designed audio player ever IMHO. It's interface is fast and easy to use. The audio resumes within SECONDS when turning it on, and it turns off quickly too. Did I mention the Audio QUALITY is incredible too? I
I STILL have my 1st gen ipod. I use it in my car and leave it in there through the cold northeast winters and the blazing hot summers. still works great. You just can't kill that thing. I wonder if my touch could take the heat/cold??
Before all the apps, wifi and touchscreen mumbo-jumbo, technology used to be simple... The iPod classic plays music and that's about it, but it does so without needing to hit 4 buttons and swipe things. It's the gadget for the minimalist or those of us that don't like fidgeting with stuff while driving. The distinct advantage it has over an overly complex device like an iphone or ipod touch in that arena is that it can be operated without looking at the screen. I have one in my car and it has basically replaced my radio, allowing me to avoid the morning-zoo banter on my way into work. Additionally, the battery life on this little uni-tasker is superb and the case is quite durable (atleast more so than touchscreen devices). I would recommend the iPod classic to anyone who is more interested in the music being played instead of the device it's being played on.
I ordered the classic 4 years ago and its still going strong. I used it for music, podcasts, video, everything. My only wish is that the ipod touch would come out with a camera so I feel right about upgrading. However, if your phone has a good camera why does it matter?
I use this device daily and the battery is still as strong as ever.
It simply is the best mp3 player on the market, bar none.
good beginner ipod
