PowerColor PCS+ HD6870 Pro Reviews

Fudzilla‘s review Edit

PowerColor will bundle Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 but only in some regions. Naturally, the HD 6870 PCS+ is a good deal even without the game. So let’s recap: quiet and efficient cooling coupled with increased performance and all that at only €10 more than reference card. What’s there not to recommend?

benchmarkreviews‘s review Edit

The PowerColor PCS+ HD 6870 takes the best of the Radeon HD 5770 and the HD 5850 and creates a lower cost version that equals the old high-priced spread. It also takes the best from the reference design and leaves the negatives behind, at least in my opinion. One day someone will invent a silent radial blower; until then, I will almost always prefer cooler designs that use an axial fan. Two months after its release, the Radeon HD 6870 is a viable alternative in its market segment. It hasn't pushed the NVIDIA offerings aside, and it never will at its current price, but now there are two really good choices in the upper midrange.

overclockersclub‘s review Edit

The PowerColor HD 6870 PCS+ is the first non reference HD 6870 I have looked at and it is equipped to deliver excellent performance right out of the box. This card is factory overclocked with clock speeds of 940MHz on the Barts core and 1100MHz on the GDDR5 memory so you get a boost in performance to start with. This card supports Eyefinity with up to four monitors using the default connectivity configuration that includes two Mini Display Port connections and single HDMI port and two DVI ports, one of which is Dual Link capable.

techPowerUp!‘s review Edit

PowerColor's Radeon HD 6870 PCS+ is the best HD 6870 card you can buy at this time. It comes with some of the highest clock speed available of all HD 6870 offerings. Even though the GPU clock is high this results in only about 3% performance improvement. What really impressed me is the low fan noise levels of the card which are substantially lower than any HD 6800 card we have seen so far.
