The question we asked at the beginning was not whether the motherboard was worth its price tag to me, a benchmarker. We asked if the price tag was worth it for everyone. Unfortunately we can't stand here and say the Classified is worth the money for everyone. It won't turn your air cooled 920 into an LN2 cooled 965. The Classified won't allow you to magically crank your BCLK up to 250 allowing more overclocking on 920 processors. The Classified won't transform your PC3-12800 CL8 6GB kit of memory into Corsair Dominator-GTs running at DDR3-2000 7-8-7. What the Classified will do is allow you to actually find the limit of your processor under sub-zero conditions. The Classified will allow you to push your memory as far as any other board.

While we were raving about EVGA X58 SLI Classified mainboard right from the start, by the time we got to the conclusion the overall mood changed. EVGA X58 SLI Classified has a lot of advantages. It boasts very convenient PCB design, offers excellent functionality, and although some of the features aren’t revealed to us, they are still there. Of course, I am talking about ATI CrossFireX and a few other features that haven’t been disclosed to us for some reason.

The EVGA X58 SLI Classified is a thing of beauty but the fourth graphics slot is something of a white elephant and the price is little short of scary.

motherboards‘s review Edit

Overall, EVGA has done a good job with this board; however there are a few drawbacks to a motherboard of this caliber. You must also use high end parts along with it, for example low end power supplies and cheap memory will not work well in the 3X SLI Classified motherboard. Luckily our friends at Kingston provided us with some really high-end triple channel DDR3 and Thermaltake gave us a power supply that also matched the quality of the 3X SLI Classified. If you want the absolute best in features and overclocking options, the 3X SLI Classified is one of the most modern products available on the market, its gets a solid Hot Product Award and shows EVGA going further into the realm of overclockers.

HardwareZone‘s review Edit

Let's start with the EVGA X58 SLI Classified, which was one of the most extravagant (and larger) boards when it debuted last year. The shine is slightly dulled now in terms of cutting edge technology due to its lack of SATA 6Gbps and USB 3.0.

HotHardware‘s review Edit

The EVGA X58 3X SLI Classified is one hell of a motherboard. It is the most refined, most feature packed, and most overclockable X58 motherboard we've seen to date. Frankly, it will be a tall order for a better X58 motherboard to be released in the lifespan of the chipset. It is clean, quiet, and gets the job done.
