Acer Liquid Metal Pro Reviews

ITreviews‘s review Edit

Acer has done well with the Liquid Metal. The somewhat quirky Android skin won't appeal to everyone and more internal storage would have been nice, but there are some neat touches which help this smartphone stand out from the crowd.

HardwareZone‘s review Edit

The Liquid Metal is decidedly a decent all-round smartphone which sports a decent screen size, adequate processing power, reasonable audio/multimedia capabilities and high battery mileage . We weren't such big fans of its bulky and fingerprint-crazy exterior, but what really takes the cake is its counter-productive Breeze UI. While it was a valiant attempt to position itself differently from the existing horde of Android phones, it actually complicates the user interface. Thankfully, there's the option to switch to the basic Android UI. It is also worthy to mention that the Acer Liquid Metal comes with some novelty status LEDs like its Liquid predecessor, which gives the mobile phone an interesting edge over others.

MacNN‘s review Edit

In many ways, the Liquid Metal now represents the way Acer builds a budget PC. It's built with better materials than in the past and has impressive specifications for the price. However, on digging deep, it's also clear that both the PC and the phone made some sacrifices to get to that price, and the big numbers that trigger a sale in the store don't tell the real story. We like the physical design; we just wish that it been improved more on the inside.

Solid. The Acer Liquid Metal Android smartphone looks good and fits neatly in the hand, and it was a pleasure surfing the web.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

So overall the Acer Liquid Metal is a good device. We’re impressed with the level of customisation that Acer have undertaken - it makes it distinctive with the added addition that if you want to revert back to standard Android you can in a flash.

The Liquid Metal definitely has its strengths. It has a good screen, decent processor and runs a recent version of Android. However, the handset’s design just doesn't work as well as it should and detracts from its desirability. In addition, Acer should drop its custom Android interface as it only really succeeds in making Android more convoluted to use. Nevertheless, the price is attractive, so if you can put up with its quirks then the Liquid Metal may be a good buy.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

To wrap it all up, we have to say that with the Acer Liquid Metal is the best handset the Taiwanese have made so far. We really wanted to give it a higher score because of its curved ergonomic design, which makes it comfortable to operate, the slick metallic battery cover, the cool LED notification system, and the great specs for the price.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Acer has followed up its Stream with another smartphone that doesn't quite live up to expectations. The price is attractive, and the screen is very good, but there are some irritations too. We aren't sure we like Breeze as a user interface, the camera needs some work, and for all its social media integration we don't appreciate how convoluted the process is. This is a step in the right direction for Acer, but we still struggle to see how this phone really differentiates itself from the rest of the Android crowd.
