Rosewill RK-9000 Pro Reviews

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The Rosewill RK-9000I is a very well-made mechanical keyboard for gamers and typists alike, but the bare bones design might be a little too basic for most.

Rosewill managed to make a well performing, well priced keyboard that will appeal to people who want mechanical switches without an extravagant design. As a gaming keyboard it does alright; the MX Reds perform brilliantly as always and the standard layout makes it easy to get used to. We do miss the media controls and the USB ports that we have seen on many gaming grade mechanical keyboards. Another blunder from Rosewill is the lack of rubber beneath the stand mechanisms which makes the keyboard slide around somewhat when you are using it in the elevated position. The fact that the keyboard has a plain design without many details is both a pro and a con. For some it will look dull for others the plain finish could be a pro because it is more durable and easier to clean. The cable design is definitely a less sturdy design than those with fixed cables, or the having a good strain relief system, but this is only a minor issue. Overall the Rosewill RK-9000RE keyboard is a good choice, for budget oriented gamers who want a well-priced gaming keyboard and can live without extra features like media keys or macros.

benchmarkreviews‘s review Edit

Performance is about allowing the user to perform at their best without being held back by their peripheral. Thankfully, in that department the RK-9000BR goes far and above the call of duty. The Cherry MX Brown switches have a nice amount of haptic feedback that makes them extremely comfortable to type on. Even during a long gaming session, the RK-9000BR is extremely comfortable and really allows a player to be at their best for long periods without fatigue. Appearance wise RK-9000BR is nothing to write home about. Rosewill took very few risks with the design of the RK-9000BR and as such it is neither bad looking nor terribly interesting. It will easily fit in on a gamers desk or in a business for the heavy computer users. Still after reviewing the Corsair K90 the RK-9000BR feels so bland, and I would love to see Rosewill take some risks in the design of their future keyboards.

www.pcper.com‘s review Edit

The Rosewill RK-9000 and all of its variants are designed to be great keyboards without any bells or whistles. You are paying for solidly built full keyboards with mechanical switches under every key. You will not get backlighting. You will not get media keys. You will not get macro functions. That is not the point of these keyboards.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

Mechanical keyboards are gaining popularity in circles that miss the tactility of the original IBM Model M, and Rosewill introduces an inexpensive version in the RK-9000. It doesn't have the bells and whistles of competitors like Das Keyboard, but the Cherry Blue switches, molded keycaps, and simple-yet-durable design make the Rosewill RK-9000 an excellent, affordable product to start your click-clack keyboard addiction.
