Dell 1250c Pro Reviews

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The Dell 1250c color laser printer's compact frame makes sense for users in a confined space, but its lack of Ethernet and wireless connectivity limits its appeal for networked offices.

Great print quality makes the 1250c suited to personal use, but its print costs are quite high.

The Dell 1250c Color LED Printer delivers faster speed and better output quality overall than anything else in its price class, but at a somewhat higher cost per page.

The Dell 1250c is a great little printer, but I think it will fill a very niche role in the SOHO or SMB markets due to its limited connectivity and lack of standalone features. Of course, those happen to also be the 1250c's best features as a desktop printer because it brings down the initial cost, it makes for a simpler navigation and takes up less space.

?The Dell 1250c colour LED printer puts quality colour printing within range of lower-budget users. Unless you plan not to print much, however, your budget will quickly be busted by this model's high toner costs.

This small printer is fairly cheap up-front but higher ongoing costs detract from its overall value.

The $229 1250c is a fine color LED printer for small and home offices with moderate printing needs, but note its high toner cost and lack of networking.

PC World‘s review Edit

The Dell 1250c color printer uses LED technology instead of the more-common laser to create equally crisp results. Priced at just $230 (as of September 29, 2010), it makes color output seem attainable even for a home office. Unfortunately, exorbitant toner costs make this printer unbearably pricey in the long term.

If you want colour business print, but don't have a lot of room for a printer, this machine could suit you. While it's comparatively slow and its colour toner is expensive, it produces good quality print and is quiet for this type of machine. A mixed bag overall.

LED printing is an increasingly popular technology and this Dell machine, using a Xerox design, takes advantage of most of the benefits. It's definitely the smallest colour page printer we've seen and while it's a bit slow, it produces good quality print. It's also extremely easy to maintain, as the only consumables are the toner cartridges. The main thing that lets it down, and this is really a marketing decision, is its cost per page, particularly when printing colour.
