Sapphire HD 6870 Pro Reviews

ITreviews‘s review Edit

With the HD68xx series, AMD isn't trying to reinvent the wheel but is just refining the technology started by the HD5xxx series, and the low pricing shows just how seriously the company takes the threat of Nvidia's GTX460. Although Sapphire's HD6870 is a reference design card, the bundle included with it makes it one of the better options around.

Fudzilla‘s review Edit

Low consumption, improved video engine (UVD 3), HDMI 1.4a for 3D Blu-ray, two DisplayPort 1.2 outs with Multi-Stream support (up to 6 monitors via two DisplayPorts) are just some of the good things on this card. So, in case you’re looking for an affordable DirectX 11 card for gaming and entertainment, Sapphire HD 6870 should definitely make your list.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

We’ve been raving about the nVidia GTX 460 for the last couple of months, but the Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 now takes over in the £151-plus graphics card category. This fantastic card costs less than £200, but is even able to rival the significantly more expensive 5850. We can expect the upcoming 6900 series to take performance up a notch again. However, for those shopping around at the £200 price point today, the Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 is a stunning buy.

This card has what it takes to be a crowd pleaser, its fast, plays all the latest games and has a MRPP of $239.00 making it a shoe in for an Editor's Choice Award.

tweaktown‘s review Edit

While the HD 6870 isn’t going to be an upgrade from a HD 5870 and not much of an upgrade from a HD 5850, it’s an upgrade from a lot of other models and that’s important to know. Overclocking adds a nice boost in performance and TRIXX from Sapphire is looking the goods with the software being used twice now in our HD 6800 series content.
