DFI LANPARTY DK P55-T3eH9 Pro Reviews

hardocp‘s review Edit

DFI has again put together what looks to be a solid enthusiast motherboard. Our DK P55-T3eH9 showed great stability and stellar overclocking while keeping to the DFI "old school" formula. At around $175 it looks to be a good value, although probably not the best now days. And while DFI says it is not getting out of the motherboard market, it did state that DFI will no longer be producing ATX form factor motherboards. So if you ever wanted a DFI motherboard, the DK P55-T3eH9 is likely the one to get.

There is not a single serious issue, but the whole bunch of minor problems, inconveniences and disadvantages combined together create one big deal - DFI LANPARTY DK P55-T3eH9. This solution is very similar to the recently reviewed ASRock and Biostar mainboards, even their prices are about the same – around $185, which is in fact quite a lot. In my opinion, the board is partially a victim of being in the LANPARTY DK series. Had it been a LANPARTY BI series solution, it could have got a simpler cooling system and a more attractive price around $140, where you are more eager to overlook certain things.

Okay, we have to say that for a DFI LANParty board we were a little disappointed with the results that we saw from the DK P55-T3eH9. While we admit we did not get to spend a large amount of time on overclocking, we still feel that as an "Overclock Edition" DFI board we should have been able to get a much higher clock than we did.

HardwareZone‘s review Edit

That feature is just the icing for a pretty good board that got things mostly right. The layout for example, has given us no cause for complaints and the feature list is also competitive, with perhaps the lack of FireWire and only having eight SATA ports some minor drawbacks for those who are counting. Performance is like most of the P55 boards we have seen and the only black mark is the memory compatibility issue that we encountered. This was solved eventually using another memory brand but it certainly gave us some initial doubts. But as with all new boards, newer and improved BIOS in the coming weeks and months will no doubt diminish this issue.

Moving further up the food chain we have the DFI LanParty DK P55-T3eH9 and we have to say while this motherboard certainly looks very cool, at $190, it’s probably not the coolest option. Despite its lackluster overclocking results, we didn't find the LanParty to be heavy on features boasting just one more SATA port compared to the MSI P55-GD65, yet it drops the second Gigabit LAN controller.
