ASRock H55DE3 Pro Reviews

hardwaresecrets‘s review Edit

ASRock H55DE3 is an entry-level motherboard for Core i3 and Core i5 processors with integrated video with some interesting extra features, like eSATA ports, on-board SPDIF output and overclocking options. It should be a product that will please the entry-level user that only runs office style applications and the user building an HTPC (Home Theater PC), especially when you think that Intel reference board, DH55TC, comes with less features and a lower-grade voltage regulator circuit but costs around the same. One nice think was to see ASRock improving their overall quality. Even though this brand focuses on low-priced products, the voltage regulator circuit uses only solid caps and ferrite chokes.

motherboards‘s review Edit

ASRock has taken the H55 chipset and added some features most motherboards on this chipset don’t have. The ability to overclock the CPU and internal graphics by up to 50% is a great thing especially since the CPUs in question have some room to overclock. The H55 chipset is meant for the casual gamer with support for DirectX 10 on the Intel GMA HD. The board supports up to two ATI cards in Crossfire mode including the HD 5970 for four GPU actions, which is great for the power gamer. Performance on the board is excellent and the feature set is excellent as well.

We like to thank ASRock for providing the H55DE3 for our review today. This is the first board we've reviewed with the H55 chipset and I have to say I'm highly impressed with the performance numbers we were seeing against its older brother the P55 chipset. ASRock did a good job of making an affordable motherboard with great overclocking capabilities at a cost that will make budget PC builders happily hand over their hard-earned dollars to purchase one.
