MSI P35 Platinum Pro Reviews

AnandTech‘s review Edit

Overall, we are very pleased with the performance that MSI has extracted from this board now. The only question that remains is how well it compares to new P35 boards from Biostar, abit, Foxconn, and Gigabyte in this price range. That question will be answered in our roundup shortly but for now those looking for great "set and forget" stock performance cannot go wrong with this board... unless of course the rollercoaster themed heatpipe system is a deal breaker.

Of course, we all like to get extra boost of adrenalin on a roller coaster every now and then, but I would definitely trade constant ups and downs for stable and predictable operation of my system. So, hopefully, MSI team will improve their P35 Platinum mainboard and make it an even better solution.

HardwareZone‘s review Edit

Although this is the first Intel P35 motherboard we've reviewed, the MSI P35 Platinum proves to be a very well built and well rounded motherboard. MSI plays to the strengths of the chipset and delivers a solid entry into the market. If you aren't planning of a total overhaul of your PC, DDR2 is still here to stay for a while yet. With dropping prices, setting up a 4GB or higher capacity rig isn't so hard anymore and boards like the P35 Platinum will probably let you extend the life of your memory for another year or so.

But overall, the MSI P35 Platinum is a solid motherboard. It is a solid performer, has good features and is overall, pretty well rounded. If you’re looking for a new motherboard for your next Intel Core 2 system and want the latest motherboard technology at a reasonable price, the MSI P35 Platinum is definitely a product to consider.

ExtremeTech‘s review Edit

With the P35 Platinum, MSI tries to cater to people who want as much control over their motherboards as possible. This includes a couple of retro features, including jumpers to set the default FSB and a CMOS reset button down on the motherboard, making it easier to reset the CMOS if you get into trouble while tweaking the board.
