Ultimately, MSI's Eclipse Plus motherboard is designed for those who want more than just the best performance numbers. If you're the type of person who has already built a three-way SLI system for the purpose of bragging about your 3DMark scores online, the MSI X58 Eclipse Plus is an excellent Core i7 motherboard to consider. It's not intended for the faint of heart nor light of wallet. However, fence sitters will quickly find the allure of MSI's X58 Eclipse Plus motherboard hard to pass by when installed with an eight-core Intel Core i7 920 matched with 6GB of Corsair TR3X6G1600C8D DDR3-1600 RAM!. Recommended!

The Eclipse SLI was no slouch, but the Eclipse Plus is definitely much better providing a more refined layout that builds upon the old design and improves upon both the looks and performance! Combine the NF200 performance providing three full lanes of PCI-Express x16 bandwidth with an audio card, overclockability, looks, and energy efficiency and you have a winner!

In conclusion I would like to say that despite our unfortunate experience with MSI Eclipse mainboard 6 months ago, I was very pleased to see that the new MSI Eclipse Plus managed not only to compete successfully against its rival in our today’s test session, but even to outperform it in several tests. We hope this is a sign of steady improvement and look forward to seeing even better MSI products.

The price of the MSI Eclipse Plus might scare off some consumers, but hopefully they can weigh in the other factors that make this board attractive like bundled accessories and programs, multi GPU support, and extreme overclocking capabilities. All of these features make the price of this board well worth the investment. We would like to award the MSI Eclipse Plus with our PC Perspective Gold Award and we easily recommend this motherboard for any high-end gamer or overclocker's next X58 upgrade.
