Panasonic VIERA TX-P42VT20 Pro Reviews

hdtvtest‘s review Edit

The best going price at the time of writing is around £1500, making this an expensive 42-inch HDTV display. However, this is the price of new technology, and the fact that the Panasonic TX-P42VT20B also includes two pairs of 3D glasses (albeit the older, less comfy ones) and produces some of the best 2D images on the market should cushion the financial blow.

The P42VT20 certainly isn’t cheap for a 42in TV, especially when you consider that Samsung’s 50in PS50C6900 3D plasma TV can now be had for less than a grand. But the P42VT20’s pictures contain much more contrast than that Samsung model’s, and it suffers even less than the Samsung with crosstalk noise. All of which means that it consolidates the VT20 range‘s position as currently the most consistently watchable 3D tellies on the planet.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

From the barrage of 3D marketing that never seems to end you'd think that a 3D set would be essential but unless you're a 3D nut we'd find it hard to recommend the P42VT20. For a lot less money you can buy the 2D-only P42V20 and enjoy all of this set's core strengths.
