Foxconn FlamingBlade Pro Reviews

hardocp‘s review Edit

The Foxconn Flaming Blade is really close to being an [H] Editor’s Choice award winner. In fact, we wanted to present it a Silver, but we just could not bring ourselves to do it. There are just too many sloppy BIOS issues with this board to allow it. The extremely solid overclocking, even with somewhat high voltages, makes us excited about this board. Then you remember the useless memory multiplier presets in the BIOS that do not do what it says it will. None of this is a deal breaker for an experienced hardware enthusiast, but if you are a noob, you will likely want to look elsewhere.

What is certain is this board has potential; it's got reasonable overclocking on tap and plenty of features. However, it's limited to a single triple channel bank meaning 6GB is the most memory this board can take at this time using current 2GB density modules.

Flaming Blade is a relatively cheap Core i7 motherboard that packs in enough features to appeal to serious gamers without including the sorts of luxuries that raise the price sky high.

HardwareZone‘s review Edit

For enthusiasts hunting for the best 'deal' in terms of what features they actually get, the Foxconn Flaming Blade will perhaps appear slightly lacking, but the polish that we find on this board, from its BIOS implementation to the generally smooth experience that we had with it, should find takers among consumers, especially given its relatively affordable price tag.

ITreviews‘s review Edit

Flaming Blade is a budget version of the more expensive Blood Rage and it delivers plenty of performance and a decent list of features at a fair price. There's nothing about Flaming Blade that stands out as an actual problem, but neither is there anything that really grabs our attention. Which is, perhaps, what you'd expect of a mid-range board.
