GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P (rev. 1.0) Pro Reviews

benchmarkreviews‘s review Edit

There are no reasons why the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P should not stand out in the crowd like it does, but that's not the same sort of analysis, is it? Someone famous once said: "Success is its own reward." I think this product is as clear cut an example of that adage as any. It's a winner!

AnandTech‘s review Edit

While performance is important, ultimately the product needs to have the right feature set, stability, compatibility, customer support, and pricing. The GA-EP45-UD3P offers all of this and more to potential buyers. The UD3P offers a flexible layout, a tweaker’s BIOS, CrossFire support, an abundance of storage options, an excellent cooling solution, top-flight electrical components, very good HD audio featuring Dolby Digital Live encoding, and an extensive accessory package along with excellent documentation for about $115 with rebate.

The first UD3 board we have tested to date really gave us hope that UD3 will improve, not only overclocking, but also by helping to reduce power consumption within a PC. After all, if you can lower the temps by reducing power and keeping the components cooler without using extra fans, you are already helping towards a more efficient system. The EP45-UD3P managed to impress us with its performance, overclocking and features; a three win combo here.

HardwareZone‘s review Edit

Finally, our overall experience with the board, from the fuss-free installation and BIOS update, to the testing and overclocking, has been generally positive. There were no problems encountered and the board worked flawlessly. This alone is worth the extra cost of the Gigabyte EP45-UD3P compared to other brands who may be more powerful but at the expense of user friendliness.

ITreviews‘s review Edit

As an outstanding high-end board for a mid-ranged price, the GA-EP45-UD3P is the ideal product for those looking to add some extra performance to an existing Socket 775 PC. It has unrivalled overclocking capabilities and has a feature set and performance on a par with X48 based boards costing far more money.

HotHardware‘s review Edit

Gigabyte's EP45-UD3P performed well -- it placed right in line with other Intel and NVIDIA boards that we used for comparison -- but in general it was the best P45 board we've come across. Frame rates were the fastest recorded, even beating out the "gamer" intended MSI P45 Platinum. We were also able to get some large dividends from overclocking. Possibly due to the effects of the Ultra Durable 3 components, we achieved the highest overclock we've seen with the particular CPU we've been using over the past year or so.

If you're not quite ready for DDR3 or Core i7, this is the motherboard. Simply amazing in every way.
