GIGABYTE GA-M59SLI-S5 (rev. 1.0) Pro Reviews

HotHardware‘s review Edit

If you are looking for a balance between price and features, it's hard not to like the Gigabyte GA-M59SLI-S5. Default overclocking was a strong point for this board and multi-monitor users should appreciate the third graphics port, especially when in SLI mode. Further complementing the GIGABYTE GA-M59SL-S5, the external SATA solution and decent retail package all makes for a solid product for the price range. We give the GIGABYTE GA-M59SL-S5 a Hot Hardware Heat Meter Rating of a 9.

TechSpot‘s review Edit

Unfortunately, when it came time to overclock the M59SLI-S5 things did not go as planned. While the ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe managed a 340MHz FSB, getting the Gigabyte board stable at even 300MHz just seemed like going too far. Using the latest “F3” BIOS revision I was only able to achieve a stable 266MHz FSB, which is not really even worth reporting. Therefore, I did not even bother to include the overclocked performance results in the review, as we have seen what an Athlon64 3800+ can do when operating on a 340MHz FSB.
