thinksound ts02+mic Pro Reviews

AVForums‘s review Edit

The thinksound’s have to be considered at two slightly different levels. Firstly and perhaps most importantly, they are a capable earphone for the asking price. The tonal balance is pleasant and they manage to be detailed and spacious without tipping over into brightness or aggression. The slightly boisterous bass performance will not be everybody’s cup of tea but depending on your listening preferences and whether you can EQ them to control this low end performance slightly better. Finally, they are comfortable and well constructed, well in keeping with the asking price. A look online suggests that this asking price can often be somewhat lower than the list price too.

It's rare to find in-ear headphones with this level of clarity, detail and bass response, and even rarer at this price. £50 isn't small change but anyone considering a new MP3 player would be better off skimping a little on the player in order to splash out on headphones like these - that's where the biggest potential for improvement lies.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The ts02 is a great headset with a beautiful design, a warm and relaxed sound, a great microphone, and a unique emphasis on envrionmentalism. There are a number of very good headsets in the £60 to £100 price range including Etymotic’s mc3, Maximo’s iP-595 and V-moda’s Remix Remote that compete well with the ts02, but for some people, the ts02’s environmentally friendly design and packaging, both standout features, will take precedence over relatively minor differences in sound and style.

Even if you don't care for their eco-friendly credentials - the unique selling point of the Thinksound ts02+mic earphones - they offer good enough build and sound quality to be worthy of their asking price. Our only point of contention is the potentially too-heavy bass, but many listeners that will mark that up as a positive.
