It's certainly worth the hassle. The Etymotic HF2s aren't the last word in low-end punch, but they're a balanced and musical listen with just the right amount of bite at the top end and a stirringly intimate way with a vocal.

Etymotic is offering a truly unique service for consumer earphones – they’ve made it relatively simple for anyone to get a bespoke product. The custom tips audibly increase the sound quality offered by the hF2s, as well as making them significantly better at blocking out noise. They’re also, in the experience of the team, very comfortable. If you’re someone who’s had trouble finding a pair of earphones that don’t cause discomfort, the hF2s with custom tips are well worth looking at.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

These headphones are amazing, amazing in that they are comfortable; there is little or not movement making them ideal for runners, and that they sound great. The fitting process is painless and the end result is that you get a pair of headphones that fit you and only you alone. Our only complaint of the hf2's is that they could have been a bit bassier, but regardless of that, they still come highly recommended.
