Huawei U8150 IDEOS Pro Reviews

phonedog‘s review Edit

The Comet is a decent low-end smartphone and performance isn't as bad as you would expect, but there are better low-end options on T-Mobile in the same price-range.

ITreviews‘s review Edit

The Huawei IDEOS promises a lot on paper in terms of value for money. Start to dig a little and that promise is deflated a little by the reality. But even so, there is plenty to like about this handset, and if nothing else it is more evidence that Android has a place at the lower end of the market as well as right at the top.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The T-Mobile Comet gets you a real Android phone for no money up front; it's far from perfect, but it opens up the smartphone world to plenty of new people.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

Before making any final remarks about the T-Mobile Comet, you really have to factor in its obscene price of free with a contract. Things like its questionable construction, lack of multi-touch support, and poor photo taking capabilities does make its free pricing a bit less desirable. Nonetheless, it still offers all the wonderful features that Android has to offer. And for those with a budget and torn between choosing a feature phone, the T-Mobile Comet makes for a decent transition device.

mobileengadget‘s review Edit

It's easy to read through some of our criticisms here and dismiss the Comet as a mediocre device -- but again, we need to focus just as much on the price and the market significance as we do on the device itself. As of this writing, the Comet is actually free on contract if you buy it off T-Mobile's site... and that's for a brand-new, just announced smartphone running the latest available version of Android direct from a carrier. That's simply unprecedented.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

If you’re keen to get into smartphones and have a limited budget, the Google co-developed Huawei Ideos is a great start. Running the latest Android 2.2 OS and with customisable coloured backplates, it offers the appeal of the customisable Android platform without the drag of an expensive and lengthy contract. Recommended.
