With so much to offer and at a price under $200 for all of this, I have to put this motherboard at the top of what I have tested. While a little bit more than the ASUS M4A79T and the Gigabyte 790FX, the Crosshair III Formula has plenty more to offer and this makes up for the premium price. Considering this is one of the top boards available for the AMD platform and it is still priced fairly low, the extra cash would be well spent. I highly recommend the Crosshair III to anyone wanting to take their love of pushing their systems to the next level.

At the end of the day, the Crosshair 3 Formula is out to impress and it does a very good job of doing just that. It is great to see Asus willing to put so much effort into developing such quality products that cater to select market. That said, this board does have a practical purpose for even regular users wanting to dabble in taking the system beyond its normal boundaries, but let’s be honest - this board will not settle for running stock, it demands more.

In essence the new Crosshair III is an M4A79T Deluxe with some useful extra features that are essentially free of charge. Brilliant!

motherboards‘s review Edit

The board overclocked to 3.21GHz from the default 2.6GHz a 23% overclock that was completely stable. The board also has the features you want from an AMD board including support for AM3 Phenom II CPUs, an LCD POSTER, the ability to "Level Up" your CPU with the flick of a button and onboard Start, Reset and MemOK buttons on the board. The one negative on this board is the lack of more than two PCI Express x16 slots as the flexibility of more slots offers more choices for the gamer. Otherwise the CROSSHAIR III Formula board is excellent in every way from features, performance and stability. This board is a serious Hot Product as it has great features and excels in performance.

ITreviews‘s review Edit

If you fancy going down the non-Intel route - and the latest AMD processors do offer a good alternative - then the Asus Crosshair III Formula board is certainly one to add to your list. It offers a good feature set at a decent price point, making it a good basis for a gaming system for the would-be gamer on a relatively limited budget.

TechSpot‘s review Edit

The performance, stability and overclocking abilities of the Asus Crosshair III Formula make it a noteworthy addition to the current crop of AM3 motherboards. This latest revision of the Crosshair is by far the best, and of course, the fact that you can couple of it with high-performance affordable AMD Phenom II processors has also helped cast the Crosshair III Formula in better light.
