ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO Pro Reviews

pcstats‘s review Edit

The ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO motherboards and the AMD 785 chipset aren't revolutionary new products that will change the way you compute (although with ATI Stream they're definitely getting close...), but they are notable for bringing high-end features to much lower price points than you'd expect. The AMD 785G chipset is head and shoulders above Intel's G41 chipset, which competes at the same $95 CDN, ($90 USD, £55 GBP) price point. If you're looking for a cost-effective way to get a full-featured motherboard with a lot of potential for upgrades thanks to DDR3 and Socket AM3 compatibility, the ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO is a good bet.

The bottom line is that the Asus M4A785TD-V Evo is really a very good motherboard at the right price, but just drops short in our expectations of an outright recommendation.

The ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO motherboard represents a great value and a great performing motherboard for AMD’s Phenom II processors. It is a budget oriented product but you would never know it from its perfect operation and amazing stability shown to us under our Torture Test environment.

HEXUS‘s review Edit

Looking at it pragmatically, the ASUS M4A785TD-V is a well-specified interpretation of 785G that features a decent layout and a number of added extras - SidePort memory, for example - not found on the most budget boards. Pricing, too, is keen, at £70, but we'd like to see a BIOS-saving option and better onboard audio, as it's likely to be used in an HTPC environment.

Provided you don't want CrossFireX you'll find that the M4A785TD-V EVO does a very good job at a low price but the sooner Asus comes out with a Micro-ATX version the better.

motherboards‘s review Edit

For the target market of the AMD Socket AM3 CPU purchaser the ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO doesn’t get much better than this as the board looks good, performs great and has the features you would want from a motherboard with integrated graphics. The price point on the ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO is $99.99 on Newegg, making it competitive with the other 785 boards out there. You get the ASUS branding which is always worth something as they put a lot of quality parts and workmanship into their boards, and you get the features from ASUS including Turbo Key, EPU, Express Gate and more. Overall, this is a very good board for this platform from the folks at ASUS.
