ASUS P5N-E SLI Pro Reviews

xbitlabs‘s review Edit

Talking about the particular mainboard on this chipset, the ASUS P5N-E SLI can make a good alternative to popular iP965-based products. This mainboard provides satisfactory functionality, good performance, and acceptable overclocking opportunities for its price category ($120-140). Moreover, it allows using graphics cards with Nvidia’s GPUs in SLI mode, even through at a lower speed than you would have with the more expensive nForce 680i SLI-based mainboards.

phoronix‘s review Edit

Compared to some of the other Intel LGA-775 motherboards we have recently tested at Phoronix, the ASUS P5N-E SLI had functioned great with both Linux and Solaris. The only minor issue we had run into was with LM_Sensors which had not properly read some of the sensors. When it came to the performance of this NVIDIA nForce 650i motherboard, the P5N-E SLI had outperformed the ECS NF650iSLIT-A and while the results were extremely close, the ASUS motherboard left the winner.

HotHardware‘s review Edit

At a price near $150, the Asus P5N-E SLI is a pretty great value in our eyes. The board delivers superb overclocking, silent stock cooling, and a solid feature set, not to mention SLI support as well. The board definitely has a mid-range feel to it, as some of the high-end niceties are missing and one has to work a little harder to truly get the expected performance out of the board, but in the end, we like the P5N-E.

TechSpot‘s review Edit

Overall, we believe the P5N-E SLI is a great overclocker and are confident there is a lot more untapped potential. When operating at standard frequencies the P5N-E SLI worked flawlessly and was able to run the pair of 8800 GTX cards with the Core 2 E6700 without a problem. The performance and price is what we have found to be the most impressive aspect of the P5N-E SLI, the features and overclocking abilities are just a nice big bonus as far as we are concerned.
