ASUS Rampage Formula Pro Reviews

hardocp‘s review Edit

Besides a couple of feature set bones we have to pick and a possible issue with larger processor coolers, there is little not to like about this motherboard. We have been holding off on this review till it was hopefully possible to purchase this motherboard, but here we are in March and you can’t buy the thing. This is the third high end product from ASUS in a row that we have spent time evaluating, but leaves our readers high and dry.

AnandTech‘s review Edit

Our experience with the ASUS Rampage Formula has been tremendously enlightening thus far. Although we can confidently claim a long-standing familiarity with MCH Read Delay (tRD) and its affect on overall system performance, this motherboard provided us exactly the foundation we needed to develop our current understanding of just how some of these previously elusive settings really work. There is no reason why any enthusiast should not be able to arm themselves with this information in their quest for the perfect overclock based on overall system performance.

The Rampage Formula was extremely impressive; its overclocking was brilliant and the feature rich BIOS allows for maximum tweaking and overclocking. While we managed to only hit 525MHz, it's possible with some more tweaking of the voltages and the GTL reference dividers that you're likely to get some more speed out of the board. And with the latest 45nm CPU, overclocking becomes even easier.

HotHardware‘s review Edit

In typical ASUS fashion, the Rampage Formula was a pleasure to deal with, from the installation of the board, to its stable operation, and better yet its strong overclocking. ASUS really targets the PC enthusiast market well, providing features that help their boards stand-out from the rest of the pack. Whether it's powering up the system from clearly marked and lit power buttons, diagnosing system issues with the LED poster, or overclocking the board with the ample options in the BIOS, ASUS is almost always on the ball.
