Beats Pro Pro Reviews

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

There’s no doubt that the Beats Pro over-ears mean business. They look the part, and are superbly built - but they are ex-pen-sive and a bit too heavy. It’s not that the price is too much for a pair of headphones, it’s the calibre of other headphones on the market that complicates things. There are cheaper and lighter headphones that sound just as good, but these might not come with the style and perceived image of the Beats range. This is fashion meets audio in many respects. Some will love the Pros, while others will hate, but it looks to us that Dre is now way beyond just "representing gangsters across the world" - he's got chunks of the world's high-profile athletes and the public in his pocket too.

MacNN‘s review Edit

The Beats Pro isn't the highest-end over-ear headphone set available, but it's certainly targeted at the musical elite, and that may be their only major barrier. Many can’t imagine spending $100 on a pair of headphones, let alone $450. To some extent, though, that's the point. If you listen to private audio for hours every day, especially if you make a living from it, the investment in the audio upgrade will pay itself back soon enough. If the weight doesn't burden you over long periods, the clean yet forceful sound is more than worth the cost. However much Dr. Dre was personally involved in making the Beats Pro, the attention to detail in the design and the sound is definitely in evidence.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Pro Headphones deliver a sturdy design and top-notch sound quality for those who enjoy skull-shattering bass. If you're a casual listener and can afford them, they're a worthy investment but if you're an audio purist then you may want to comparison shop.
