ASUS P5Q Deluxe Pro Reviews

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The P5Q Deluxe is very close to being a fine gaming motherboard with a decent layout. However, it feels like it needs more a little more BIOS development to get up to scratch in the performance department and the third graphics slot is a complete waste of space.

The P5Q Deluxe is without a doubt a board I would consider in my own personal system. Its support for Crossfire finally comes with a balanced x8/x8 setup and the next gen 16 phase voltage regulation system makes for an efficient voltage setup. The additional onboard features including eSATA, Drive Xpert RAID backup and dual Gigabit Ethernet is the icing on the cake.

Asus has done a fine job with the Intel P45 chipset and the P5Q Deluxe looks like a prime candidate for the gamer who is building a new PC.

HotHardware‘s review Edit

The Asus P5Q Deluxe performed well throughout our testing. In the synthetic SANDRA benchmarks, the board posted slightly lower scores than a comparably equipped X48-based system, but that didn't hold the P5Q back in the majority of our real-world application tests. In PCMark Vantage the P5Q put up some solid performance numbers, and it finished neck and neck with or slightly ahead of the X48 in our 3D rendering and encoding tests. It was only in the gaming tests that the P45-based Asus P5Q Deluxe trailed by a few percentage points.
