All things considered, Gigabyte's GA-P55-UD5 is a good mainstream motherboard to consider if a Core i5 upgrade is in the books for your next system build. It doesn't have SATAIII or USB3.0, but unless you're on the cutting edge of what's new and plan on buying a couple SSD's this won't matter too much. USB3.0 add-in cards are popping up for reasonable amount, and the GA-P55-UD5 does have two PCI Express x1 expansion slots which you can easily use for that purpose. Recommended.

Some of the layout is a bit naff, but overall it works with a generally good looking design but we appreciate the angular heatsinks can be an acquired taste. There are few faults with the Gigabyte GA-P55-UD5, but you've got to really need all the features to buy one, and given the fact the "A" series boards with SATA 6Gbps and USB 3 are already here just two months after the original release - it really does kill any potential value in a purchase. Checkout the much cheaper UD3 or UD4s that are 90 per cent of the same board for a more compelling Gigabyte P55 purchase.

GIGABYTE has gone the extra mile with this board. The board performed well in the default settings against the other P55 boards. The board overclocked to over 3.5GHz on air cooling which is not insignificant when using the 2.66GHz Core i5 750. The features of the board include 2OZ Copper in the Power and Ground layers of the board. It is available online for around $200 at this moment, making it in the middle ground of the P55 boards on the market today. As usual, with an Intel chipset launch, GIGABYTE has launched several P55 boards this week. Gigabyte has a Hot Product with this new i5 motherboard.
