GIGABYTE GA-P55-UD3R (rev. 1.0) Pro Reviews

bjorn3d‘s review Edit

The Gigabyte UD3R is meant to be a value board, with a few extras to make it more than a bare bones motherboard. The board uses pretty good heat sinks, even better than some of the low end X58 boards. The board also overclocks so well you would have thought it was a high end motherboard. The board also features 8 SATA ports, which should be way more than what the average user needs. This motherboard also supports DDR3 2100, which is probably a higher speed than anyone who buys this board will have. This board does not have everything though. This is how Gigabyte is able to make the board cheaper.

Retailing for about $150 CDN ($140 USD, £85 GBP), the Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3R motherboard represents a solid entry to Intel's P55 Express chipset. It gives you all the features and performance to unlock the true potential of a quad-core Core i5 processor, at a competitive price that makes it easy to include in a mainstream computer system. Recommended.

overclockersclub‘s review Edit

There is no doubt that the GA-P55-UD3R is a capable performer. It delivers this level of performance without the 24-phase VRM used on its big brother. By the same token, the lack of phases can impact the efficiency of the energy saving features and may impact long term stability with fewer phases to spread the load across. Even though it has a lesser feature set, the features it comes with will work for the majority of people. The GA-P55-UD3R delivers great overclocking and a great price.

xbitlabs‘s review Edit

Like any other mainboard, Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3R is not totally ideal. Some may be upset about the absence of NVIDIA SLI support, some will need an additional IEEE1394 (FireWire) controller. If the functionality of Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3R is sufficient for your needs, then I hope doesn’t disappoint you and maybe even impresses you, like it impressed me.
