GIGABYTE GA-H57M-USB3 (rev. 1.0) Pro Reviews

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

If you're thinking of gaming in any sense of the word then you need a dedicated GPU – and you might as well go for a cheapo P55 board and a good quad. But then that might just be me.

When this board touched base with us, we felt it was going to be the board to beat. We think Gigabyte nailed everyone on pricing by offering H57 and USB3 features at $119—a perfect fit for Clarkdale.Moving on to other areas, although stock operation with memory and processors is fine, the H57-USB3 needs some attention for 8GB memory overclocking.

Our tests showed that Gigabyte GA-H55M-USB3 and GA-H57M-USB3 mainboards are very good products in many respects. We really liked them even before we ran the first tests, namely, upon close examination of their PCB layout and features. They didn’t disappoint us during CPU and memory overclocking.

For the GIGABYTE GA-H57-USB3 I have some very mixed feelings. I think that on the one hand, GB has done a good job of giving an enthusiast style board to the mainstream, but on the other we are not seeing the enthusiast class performance from it. I really do not know how to call this one with H55 board prices right around $100 and the cost of the H57-USB3 a little higher than that, I have to wonder if it is worth it. I suppose if you are looking to pick up a dual core CPU and want to have a pair of 5670s then you would have a great board for that type of setup.
