GIGABYTE GA-X58-USB3 (rev. 1.0) Pro Reviews

overclockersclub‘s review Edit

If you are looking to either upgrade your system to a LGA1366 setup or maybe you just want to get into a new motherboard, you may just want to check out the GA-X58-USB3 from Gigabyte. While I was not able to hit the overclocking speeds I wished, I knew that my chip was not going to be able to do very well when it came to pushing it. The features alone on this board such as the USB 3.0, multi-GPU support, and the bundled software make it a good contender against the competition.

hardwaresecrets‘s review Edit

The new Gigabyte X58-USB3 seems to be a nice top mainstream socket 1366 motherboard, with two USB 3.0 ports, three PCI Express x16 slots supporting both SLI and CrossFireX modes, six memory sockets, two BIOS chips, on-board coaxial SPDIF output, good overclocking options, and great construction quality. High-end users, however, will miss SATA-600 ports, maybe a second Gigabit Ethernet port, and probably will demand a voltage regulator circuit with more phases. If this is your case, you should look for another (probably more expensive) product, otherwise we believe you will be happy with this motherboard.

HEXUS‘s review Edit

No X58 chipset-based motherboard will have it all for £135, clearly, but if you want a no-nonsense offering that will be a good home to a lower-end Core i7 9x0 chip, Gigabyte's X58 USB3 is a fine place to start. Indeed, it's only the relative excellence of the X58A-UD3R v2.0, attracting a £15 premium, which inhibits us from recommending the X58 USB3 without reservation.

A reasonable price for an X58 board, and with a solid range of features.

motherboards‘s review Edit

GIGABYTE is offering this motherboard as an affordable X58 motherboard with USB 3.0 support. The board offers a good feature set with only the SATA 6 Gb/second ports missing to make it really outstanding, but the ability to rapidly charge your cell phone compared to using standard USB ports is a definite plus feature to be had. The X58-USB3 board is available for $179 on Newegg, making it a definite excellent choice as one of the least expensive X58 boards on the market today. You get all of the performance and compatibility of the X58 chipset without losing high end features like 3-way SLI or Crossfire, overall not a bad candidate for the X58 arena, especially if you are on a budget.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

With the impending Sandy Bridge platform set to replace the Lynnfield LGA 1156 range in the coming months, and considering the Nehalem platform's relatively elderly status, you'd be forgiven for thinking its days were numbered. And that's true – but we wouldn't be that pessimistic about the setup just yet.
