ASUS SABERTOOTH X58 Pro Reviews

bjorn3d‘s review Edit

ASUS has made another fine product, and the X58 Sabertooth leads the way when compared to other X58 motherboards. It is a perfect board for those seeking reliability, whether for overclocking or normal use in harsh environments. It is a solid gaming board for those who plan to use only one video card.

The only caveat is that it was generally slower than the UD3R and the P6X58D-E in our Media Benchmarks, but the margins we’re talking about here are tiny - you’d barely notice any difference. It’s also better-looking than the older boards and is backed up by a superior warranty. If you’re looking for an X58 motherboard, your decision just became a lot easier.

The ASUS Sabertooth X58 is a great overclocking motherboard that comes to the user, sans a few upper end features, at a great price. ASUS' product segmentation and stack is getting a bit confusing but we are hearing that the second round of "Sabertooth" motherboards are going to show up with a feature set that will put the brand apart from the rest of ASUS' brands. This board is a bit late into the X58 fray but it is a very worthy contender for sure that needs to be on your X58 short list.

The ASUS Sabertooth X58 motherboard is a sub-$200 motherboard that can run with the best of them, but is priced well below the best of them!

After my time with the Sabertooth X58 I am left with a very distinct impression. This is a board that is designed to last. Although we had good overclocking results in terms of the actual clock speed we saw, many of the performance numbers drop. This would seem to indicate that the Sabertooth is designed with stock speeds in mind. In the end, if you are looking for a hardworking, good performing motherboard for your next system, the ASUS Sabertooth X58 would be an excellent choice. This is even more so with its $189.99 price tag at NewEgg.com and the 5-year warranty that ASUS gives you.

xbitlabs‘s review Edit

Quality and reliability are crucially important and fundamental characteristics of any mainboard as they determine the service life and stability of the whole computer. This is why MSI emphasizes the use of “military grade” components in its products while Gigabyte’s technologies for higher reliability which go under the name of Ultra Durable are a third version already.

overclockersclub‘s review Edit

The Sabertooth X58 provided stable stock and high speed operation without fault. The design of the motherboard is well laid out and the quality of the components used is high. The CPU socket area is very open and free of clutter which should entice some extreme overclockers into trying the motherboard out and its array of more resilient electronics. The color scheme looks good and is uncommon among the PC community. That can be both good and bad as being unique is always special but it also means that to have perfectly matching components to the motherboard, it may require DIY modding and some intensive searching. But, it can be said that not too many people care about how the insides of a computer look as long as the components are of good quality.
