Intel DH55TC Pro Reviews

hardwaresecrets‘s review Edit

Intel DH55TC is a very basic motherboard for the new Core i3 and Core i5 processors with integrated video. Its highlights include the presence of three video connectors (VGA, DVI-D and HDMI, although only two of them can be used at the same time) and a mix of Japanese and solid capacitors. Its drawbacks include the presence of only three shared analog audio jacks, no on-board SPDIF connectors (it has an SPDIF header, so you can easily have SPDIF outputs by buying and installing an adapter, though), a voltage regulator circuit that could be better designed and only a very basic overclocking option.

Intel's DH55TC is a very capable LGA1156 microATX motherboard, but there are cheaper alternatives.

xbitlabs‘s review Edit

Intel DH55TC is an extremely limited and simplified mainboard. It has a rather unsuccessful PCB design and its functionality is limited to that of the Intel H55 Express, which is one of the most primitive chipsets today. The mainboard BIOS offers very few settings to work with. After such products one may even want to go AMD and check out if things are better in the other camp. Unlike ASUS team, for example, the developers of this mainboard cannot be really proud of it. On the other hand, they did just what they had been asked to do.

Overall, the Intel DH55TC offers a solid array of features, and of course comes with the stability and reliability that Intel motherboards are known for. I've had this board under extended testing for about two months now and have not come across any stability issues. This testing is conducted in a custom box with little airflow to ensure things stay heated up nicely to stress the components more so than a typical system with better airflow. The DH55TC benefits from the fact that the LGA 1156 processors do not put out much heat even under load, and that's with a stock Intel cooler. Throw something a little more substantive on there and you'll need not worry about temperature.

motherboards‘s review Edit

The DH55TC motherboard does the job for a HTPC user with integrated sound and a small form factor as well as support for the GMA HD integrated graphics that exists on the CPU. This is a new era in integrated graphics as AMD will soon follow suit with on-CPU graphics on their CPUs. I give Intel a Hot Product Award for innovation in technology and being first to market with this type of solution.

HardwareZone‘s review Edit

Intel has rarely competed well against other brands when it comes to retail motherboards and the plain DH55TC doesn't change anything. Its performance is fine, but the lack of frills along with a price that's more than matched by other rivals ensures that it won't be getting our vote.
