Samsung Xcover 271 Pro Reviews

itreviews‘s review Edit

For its outdoor and if audience, the Solid Immerse is right on the money. With a reasonably low spec backing up those tough phone features, this is best categorised as an occasional phone for using while hiking, boating, farming or fishing, though we do wish it had Wi-Fi and a much better camera - the latter, especially, would mean carrying less gadgets while gallivanting.

The Samsung Solid Immerse has a rugged body that's impressively water- and dust-proof, at a price well below some of its rivals. That it packs 3G too is a surprising extra. However, its connected capabilities aren't up to much and the omission of a 3.5mm headphone jack seems unnecessary. As a phone for hiking or use on a building site, it's a good-value choice. For just about anyone else, it's the wrong choice.

A rugged feature phone with useful features, the Solid Immense doesn’t have the power of a smartphone but is useful enough to make it good addition to your backpack.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

Overall, the Samsung Solid Immerse isn't a bad phone at all, as long as you're after something basic for phone calls and texts and not much else besides. The actual voice calling function is great and a lot better than on many much more highly priced handsets. It's great for keen campers and outdoorsy types who don't want to be worrying about the welfare of their phone while they're trying to enjoy the great outdoors. Even if you do drop it into a ravine, or off some scaffolding then it won't be that pricey to replace. However, if you want a smartphone then this isn't the handset for you. Both web browsing and social networking are clunky to the point of being almost unusable.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

In the past we've liked Samsung's rugged handsets, but the Samsung Solid Immerse doesn't really do enough to bring the product line on. And, we hate to mention it again, but we simply have to recommend the Motorola Defy rather than this handset, unless you're really in a budget and hate the person that invented touchscreen phones. The Samsung Solid Immerse is a rugged little critter, but it lacks features. While hardware usability rates well, software usability is hampered by a number of issues including – too many in the end for us to really recommend this phone.
