Great sub-$500 TV

Ownership period: more than 1 year.

In this world, you get what you pay for, so the best approach to take is often a "middle of the road" approach, and that is where the RCA L32HD31 TV comes in. The picture is crisp when viewing HD content, and 2 HDMI connections is acceptable for under $500, though it would be nice to have 3 connections (1 for the cable box, 1 for the laptop, 1 for the upscaling DVD or Blu-Ray player). The sound quality was almost good enough to make me forget that I didn't hook up my 5.1-channel DVD home theater system. Another feature I would like to see is Closed Captioning for HDMI sources (on my TV, it only works on over-the-air digital TV channels).
