ASUS Eee PC 1101HA (Seashell) Pro Reviews

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Overall, we like the Eee PC Seashell 1101 a lot. While it doesn't offer the extreme portability of its smaller brother, the 1008HA, it manages to provide a whole host of useful features, while being easier to use and looking fantastic.

The biggest Seashell yet is gloriously designed, but not quite so impressive under the hood

Liliputing‘s review Edit

The Asus Eee PC 1101HA isn’t the fastest Intel Atom computer around. And in fact, it feels kind of sluggish at times, even with the CPU running at top speed. But by allowing users to overclock the processor to run at 1.73GHz, Asus has made the Eee PC 1101HA feel significantly faster than the Asus Eee PC T91, which features the same processor and a lower resolution display.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

There’s no doubting the Seashell 1101HA is a good product, with a great screen, comfortable keyboard and reasonable specification. Whether the larger keyboard is worth the compromise in portability depends purely on your needs, however. It’s also less attractive than the original Eee PC 1008HA, and we’d be tempted by the extra mobility on offer.

netbooked.net‘s review Edit

The ASUS Eee PC 1101HA is another excellent 11-inch mini-notebook which offers the best battery life yet in that form factor: up to 10 hours of battery life. The somewhat sluggish Atom Z520 processor which would be the main culprit of mini-notebooks this size, can be overcome as easily as switching power modes or changing a setting in the BIOS. Good sound, keyboard and a high resolution 1366 x 768 make working and playing with the ASUS Eee PC 1101HA a real joy.

TechSpot‘s review Edit

The Eee PC 1101HA was Asus' first netbook to go beyond the 10-inch display size, sporting an 11.6-inch panel capable of a 1366×768 resolution - they also have the 12.1-inch Eee PC 1201HA now. These larger screen netbooks provide a user experience that comes very close to that of a standard laptop, in fact, a few years back you would've had to pay a hefty premium for an ultra-portable notebook if you wanted the kind of mobility and flexibility a current generation netbook can provide.

NotebookReview‘s review Edit

The new ASUS Eee PC 1101HA might seem like little more than an oversized version of the Eee PC 1005HA, but you really shouldn't judge this netbook by its cover. The high resolution 11-inch display, larger keyboard, and easily overclocked processor make this little laptop a compelling option if you're looking for a cheap travel companion.

If you are happy with the performance and portability that a netbook offers and simply wish you had a bit more screen space and a larger keyboard, the ASUS Eee 1101HA may well be the perfect netbook for you. Aside from the larger 11.6-inch screen and larger keyboard, the machine offers performance right at the top of the netbook crowd and you won't pay a lot more for that extra screen space or performance either.

A roomy screen and good performance make this netbook a pleasure to use, and its battery life topped our charts. It's our new No. 1 netbook.

Anyone who's been yearning for a high resolution netbook will find the Eee PC 1101HA a tempting proposition. However, it is let down by its sub-par processor and its relatively high price. There's still plenty to enjoy here, but we'd wait a little longer to see what else comes along.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

Swelling the ranks of 11.6-inch Netbooks, the Asus Eee PC 1101HA impresses with its design and battery, but having to overclock a slower version of Intel's Atom CPU is a dodgy workaround.

ASUS’ 11.6-inch netbook features a bright, crisp display and excellent endurance, but cheaper netbooks offer better performance.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

It's no secret that Intel and Microsoft have a firm grip on what a netbook may or may not use in terms of features and parts; hence the many look-alikes in this pervasive category. But there are a handful of them that are considered exceptions to the rules handed down by Wintel. The ASUS EeePC 1101HA...

Notebookcheck‘s review Edit

'Netbook inventor' Asus presents its latest achievement in the Eee PC 1101HA. Although Asus is constantly expanding and adapting its range of small and mobile mini-notebooks, the difference here is clear from the first glance. For the first time, the netbook pioneer has produced a larger WXGA screen, at 11.6 inches. But despite the inevitable increase in size and weight, the Eee PC 1101HA is still focused on portability above all else.
