Pentax RZ10 Pro Reviews

Digital Trends‘s review Edit

The Optio RZ10 is not a camera for dedicated photographers looking for a point-and-shoot. It’s adequate, but not outstanding. Instead, first-time or younger shooters will appreciate its good looks and host of in-camera pre-sets, and things like the ugly UI and shutter noise probably won’t bother them. That said, the price doesn’t exactly argue it’s a good choice for this audience. You can get a variety of “starter” point-and-shoots from Canon and Nikon for under $200, and while they might not have a 10x optical zoom, you will end up with higher quality photos.

ITreviews‘s review Edit

Although it has an unassuming, toy-like appearance, the Pentax Optio RZ10 is an extremely affordable 10x zoom compact digital camera with HD video and a host of shooting modes and filters.

ephotozine‘s review Edit

There are a large number of compacts around the price of the RZ10 that are limited to a 5x optical zoom, so if you are in the market for a longer length lens from a compact then the RZ10 is likely to appeal. If it's sports you are interested in photographing then it would be difficult to recommend this camera, the 10x optical zoom is likely to be put to better use when shooting candid pictures. Image quality is acceptable for a compact in this price bracket and the range of filters are certainly a bonus, particularly if you are not a fan of editing images on a computer.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The Pentax Optio RZ10 is a surprisingly good little camera. Although it looks like a toy and is priced to match, it offers superior build quality, good performance and excellent handling, with more features than you'd expect for the money. Image quality is generally good as long as you stay away from the higher ISO settings. All in all, outstanding value for money.

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

The RZ10 is an inexpensive travel-zoom camera that fits inside a trouser pocket yet is versatile enough to cover everything from landscapes to up close and personal candids. As a cheaper alternative to mostly more full-featured rivals, it makes perfect sense for the point-and-shoot user who doesn't need the added complications. While it won't turn heads either with its looks or specification, the RZ10 is nothing if not refreshingly pared back to the essentials.
